My dear friends Troy and Rebecca Lerwill recently lost their wonderful mare, Ivey. Ivey was born at Stoney Wood Friesians in 2002. Rebecca and Troy arrived at the ranch shortly after Ivey did. They fell in love with this wonderful filly and never forgot about her as they traveled the rodeo circuit! They came back to California and purchased Ivey when she was three years old. Rebecca proceeded to train Ivey in dressage. Ivey excelled in training level her first season and then first level in 2007. She rode the FEI five-year old test, proving she was an up-and-coming dressage star. Sadly, Rebecca and Troy lost Ivey to a sudden injury in January. What a huge loss for them - and a tragic ending for Ivey at such a young age.

The sad part about growing older is that our animals don't live as long as we do
and we end up having to say goodbye to our dear sweet friends.
